Caring Gives you Wings

Having previously worked in a Spa Resort, Agnieska knew something was missing in her work life…

Over the period of a year she reached out to #NWCare and started to learn more about the care sector and the type of careers we offer, she wanted to know that we would support her on a new career journey.

How have you found the transition to Community Care ?

“I really love this job, I work with a great variety of people, and some like me who never though they could provide community care, and who now are wondering why they didn’t do it sooner”

Has the transition been a challenge?

“Clearly like any job, you have responsibilities that are extremely important, and yes you have the occasional tough day….but his is really different type of job…I have never experienced such a rewarding experience from helping others to have a support….it really gives you wings”

Agnieska is full of ambition and knows working with us will open more doors and provide her with the opportunity to move into advanced Health Care positions. Belfast is her home now and during challenging times, she wants to support her home.

“Some people think that I moved here to have a better quality of life…and that is true, aren’t we all looking to improve our life. Some think I just come here because it is better than Poland in terms of careers and jobs…that is not true, I love Poland but very quickly I realised I love life here in Belfast and the potential it offers”.

Has anything surprised you?

“Maybe coming here I did expect to see everyone have a better quality of life….but from doing this job I have come to realise that there are some people living here that don’t have the quality of life they should have and what they deserve, I would not like to see what life would be like without Carers, especially now”.

“I take great pride in knowing that every day I am helping really nice people to stay where they want to be, in their home and in their community.”

Belfast is your home now, so how have you found the locals?

“They are great, I loves the stories they have to tell me and more importantly share, some of them really like to hear about where I am from and about the differences and comparisons….I have found this engagement great to help break down barriers”

Agnieska joined NWCare in #Belfast and has been a fantastic addition to the team…her positivity and energy has been great for the wider team and for all of those she cares for.
