HMRC Mileage Reminder – The Government Could Owe You Money – Money that you could use for other things in life.
Depending on your personal circumstances you may be able to claim back money for using your car to do your job. Health Care staff who manage this, do and can claim back a lot money.
We have some staff who use it to pay towards their annual holidays. There are two ways you can claim back your additional mileage from HMRC if applicable.
Log onto the HMRC Government Tax Relief website and submit a claim for your additional mileage allowance.

If you go with option one, you need a Government Gateway user ID and password.
You can create a user ID if you do not already have one.Link for setting up a Gateway account: https://www.gov.uk/personal-tax-account
Creating a Government Gateway ID usually takes about 10 minutes. In both options it works best if you have:- your National Insurance number- a recent payslip or P60 or a valid UK passport
