NWCare are recruiting for a Registered Manager for their Ballykelly branch. This is a full-time role - 37.5 hours per week.
JOB SUMMARY
- To achieve the business plan as agreed for the company
- Management of all aspects of company activity within agreed policies and budgets
- To ensure a quality of service to all clients
- To ensure that all standards of the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority are met
- Institute the agreed marketing strategy for the company
- To hold the on-call phone on a rota basis
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development
- To be responsible for the development of new services and opportunities within domiciliary care and agency work
- To hold regular reviews and negotiations with Care Managers for all packages of care to be delivered
- To hold regular reviews and negotiations with Trust Contracts departments
- To actively participate in all user group forums to keep abreast of changing trends in the delivery of care
- To encourage the development of Area Service Managers to further enhance the growth of the company
- Establish and maintain dialogue with key personnel in local NHS Trusts
- To complete tender documentation when required
Financial Performance and Controls
- To achieve budgeted profit for the company. To identify shortfalls in performance and, in conjunction with the Operations Manager and Registered Provider, take appropriate remedial action
- To continuously review all costs to improve profitability of the company
- To ensure that all purchasing arrangements adhere to company policy
Personnel and Training
- To ensure all staff are motivated and directed in the performance of their duties
- To ensure all policies in relation to Industrial Relations, Employee Relations and Personnel practices are adhered to
- To regularly appraise and assess standards of performance in order to identify areas of strength and areas requiring attention in order to improve individual performances
- To identify any training and development needs for staff under their control and ensure these training needs are prioritised and programmed as appropriate
- To ensure effective recruitment is implemented in all areas to meet quality standards of performance
- To liaise closely with the HR Manager in all aspects of human resources
- To ensure all new starters receive effective induction in all areas of their job and legislative requirements
Quality Standards
- To ensure the company meets all Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority standards
- To ensure all staff adhere to company policies and procedures
- To work within GDPR legislation
Marketing
- To actively promote the company and to establish good working relationships with clients, relatives, Care Managers and NHS Trusts
- To liaise with the Marketing Advisor on all aspects of advertising
OTHER DUTIES
GENERAL
- To ensure all legal requirements for the safe operation of the company are implemented
- To ensure that all registration requirements are met
- To ensure any legal documentation in relation to 1 and 2 above have full approval of the Registered Person
- Where any legal action is a possible result of any action taken by the company ensure that the Registered Person is kept informed
- To immediately address and deal with any incidents, accidents or untoward events and report to appropriate external bodies, e.g. RQIA, PSNI, Social Work, etc.
- To maintain a system to obtain feedback from clients
- To develop and maintain a system to audit services provided to clients
- To participate in mandatory training as required
- To participate in Staff Development and Performance Reviews as both appraiser and appraisee
- To hold the Manager’s on-call for their own specific branch. This is subject to change to meet business needs.
CYBER SECURITY
The Employee shall not download unauthorised software, circumvent security controls, or take any action that may compromise the Employer’s network, particularly when working remotely.
Any suspected security breach or "phishing" attempt must be reported to IT Technician immediately.
A failure to maintain cyber security standards or a breach of this clause may be treated as a disciplinary matter and, in cases of serious negligence, may constitute gross misconduct.
The Employer will collect and process information relating to the Employee in accordance with the privacy notice.
DATA PROTECTION
The Employee shall comply with the organisation’s Data Protection Policy when handling personal data in the course of employment including personal data relating to any employee, worker, contractor, customer, client, supplier or agent of the Employer. Failure to comply with the Data Protection policy may be dealt with under the Employer’s disciplinary procedure and, in serious cases, may be treated as gross misconduct leading to summery dismissal.
Unlawful or unauthorised processing of data by an Employee during or after his/her period of employment with the company may constitute a breach of data protection legislation which may require notification to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and affected individuals. Data theft can constitute a criminal offence which can result in criminal conviction, fines and civil proceedings for compensation from affected parties.
