JOB SUMMARY
The role of the Deputy Manager is to support the Registered Manager, Area Service Managers and NWCare personnel
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Management of all aspects of company activity within agreed policies and procedures
Ensure a quality of service to all Service Users
Ensure that all standards of the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority are met
To manage the location and allocated area(s) in conjunction with the duties of an ASM
Assist with rota management and the daily to day management of each area and location
To hold the on-call phone on a rota basis
Work within GDPR legislation
To participate on area and managers on call arrangements to ensure service
When required to accept duties in the best interest of the service users including delivery of care
Implementation and participation of continuity arrangements
Cover rotas including at weekends when business needs require
OTHER DUTIES
- To hold regular reviews and negotiations with care managers for all packages of care to be delivered
- To hold regular reviews and negotiations with Trust contracts departments
- To actively participate in all user group forums to keep abreast of changing trends in the delivery of care
- To encourage the development of Area Service Managers to further enhance the growth of the company
- To establish and maintain dialogue with key personnel in local NHS Trusts
- To ensure company PMMR and within thresholds of compliance
PERSONNEL AND TRAINING
- To ensure all staff are motivated and directed in the performance of their duties
- To ensure all policies in relation to Industrial Relations, Employee Relations and Personnel Practices are adhered to
- To regularly appraise and assess staff
- To ensure a safe, effective service and standards of performance in order to identify areas of strength and areas requiring attention in order to improve individual performances
- To identify any training and development needs for staff under their control and ensure these training needs are prioritised and programmed as appropriate
- To ensure effective recruitment is implemented in all areas to meet quality standards of performance
- To liaise closely with Human Resources Manager in all aspects of personnel and recruitment
- To ensure all new starts receive effective induction in all areas of their job and legislative requirements
QUALITY
- To ensure that company meets all Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority standards
- To ensure all staff adhere to company policies and procedures
- To ensure company performance are met
The successful applicant will be expected to be flexible and to work within other locations branches when required, to meet the needs of the business.
N.B Dual role incorporates ASM and duty manager duties and responsibility
CYBER SECURITY:
The Employee shall not download unauthorised software, circumvent security controls, or take any action that may compromise the Employer’s network, particularly when working remotely.
Any suspected security breach or "phishing" attempt must be reported to IT Technician immediately.
A failure to maintain cyber security standards or a breach of this clause may be treated as a disciplinary matter and, in cases of serious negligence, may constitute gross misconduct.
The Employer will collect and process information relating to the Employee in accordance with the privacy notice.
DATA PROTECTION:
The Employee shall comply with the organisation’s Data Protection Policy when handling personal data in the course of employment including personal data relating to any employee, worker, contractor, customer, client, supplier or agent of the Employer. Failure to comply with the Data Protection policy may be dealt with under the Employer’s disciplinary procedure and, in serious cases, may be treated as gross misconduct leading to summery dismissal.
Unlawful or unauthorised processing of data by an Employee during or after his/her period of employment with the company may constitute a breach of data protection legislation which may require notification to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and affected individuals. Data theft can constitute a criminal offence which can result in criminal conviction, fines and civil proceedings for compensation from affected parties.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
It is the duty of every employee to work in such a way that accidents to themselves and to others are avoided, and to cooperate in maintaining their place of work in a tidy and safe condition, thereby minimising risk. Employees will therefore report any areas of concern brought to his/her attention to their Line Manager

CONFIDENTIALITY
In the course of your duties, you may have access to confidential material about Service Users, members of staff or other company business. On no account, must information relating to identifiable key stakeholders be divulged to anyone other than authorised persons, for example medical, nursing, key worker or other professional staff, as appropriate, who are concerned directly with the care of the Service User
If you are in any doubt whatsoever as to the authority of a person or body asking for information of this nature you must seek advice from your Line Manager. Similarly, no information of a personal or confidential nature concerning individual members of staff should be divulged to anyone without the proper authority having first been given. Failure to observe these rules will be regarded as serious or gross misconduct which could result in disciplinary action being taken against you
NO SMOKING POLICY
NWCare operates a No Smoking Policy which limits smoking in the workplace. Employees are required to observe the rules laid down in the policy and failure to do so may result in disciplinary action being taken

To carry out all duties and task that is deemed a reasonable work request.
CLAUSE:
This job description will be subject to review in the light of changing circumstances and may include any other duties and responsibilities as may be determined in consultation with the post holder. It is not intended to be rigid and inflexible but should be regarded as providing guidelines within which the individual works.
Essential
QCF Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care
12 months experience in Domiciliary Care at Area Service Manager level or above
NISCC (Northern Ireland Social Care Council) registration completed at training, if not already registered

Right to work in UK
Must hold on-call phone on a rota basis

Desirable
Managerial experience in a domiciliary care agency
Minimum of QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care
